Due to higher security rules in Windows 7 or higher, you should start GuardPoint Pro by right-clicking on the application shortcut icon and select the option "Run as administrator" (see attached image). Otherwise, it is possible that Windows does not modify the original application files but creates them in a temporary directory instead.
In order to keep these setting permanently, right-click the shortcut, select
Properties>Advanced and set "Run As Admin" as shown in the following images:
Another point, the USER ACCOUNT CONTROL should be disabled in the "Control Panel>Users>Change User Account Control settings".
Choose "Never notify" and restart the PC
